Ball's Pyramid

Ball's Pyramid is an erosional remnant of a shield volcano and at 3,600 feet in length and 980 feet across makes it the tallest volcanic stack in the world.

The pyramid was named after Lieutenant Henry Lidgbird Ball, who discovered it in 1788 at the same time he discovered Lord Howe Island.
